1 Night 2 Days Home Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Kumarakom - Alleppey
Check in Houseboat at 12:00 Hrs. Houseboat cruise through Vembanadu Lake for 45 mins. During the trip, one can see there are many good hotels on the left side. After 45 mins through Vembanadu lake (the biggest fresh water lake), the boat enter Pallikayal, a small lake, but very scenic. After Pallikayal, the boat will enter to R Block Canal. This is the first small canal which has a width of 75-100 mtrs. Right side one can see the paddy field and left side R Block. R Block was earlier paddy field and then converted to coconut farm. Kerala traditional liquor, toddy, is being brewed from this farm.ne can also see Chithira Paddy Field and an old church on the banks of this canal. At the end of this R Block canal the boat will re-enter in Vembanadu Lake in Aleppey and cruise for 20 mins in lake.The boat now enters Punnamada Kayal which has an approximate width of 60 mtrs. This river is famous for Nehru Trophy Boat Race which is being conducted every year. Cruise through Punnamada kayal for 15 mins.At the end of the canal, the boat turn left and enter SNDP Thod (Thod means canal) which is the smallest canal in this trip (width 30-35 mtrs). During this 1 Hr cruise, boat can stop some of the places and you can walk in the village to see and experience the village life. At the end of this canal the boat will stop for Lunch.Trip will start after1hr and make a cruise through Kuppappuram, which is a 100 mtrs width canal. During the trip one can see local fish shops selling fresh fish, prawns, local people using small country boat to cross the canal, many houseboats cruise along with our boats etc. Another attraction is the many Ayurvedic Massaging centers on the canal side. Many of them are unauthorized or without green leaf certification from concerned authorities.The boat will now enter C Block – which is a paddy field. One can see how paddy is cultivated below the water level. By 17:30 Hrs the boat will stop at C Block or 14000 Kayal (river). During this trip one can also see many interlinking canals.Overnight Stay in Houseboat. The best thing to do after 17:30 Hrs is fishing. One can seek assistance of the boat man for local fishing rods and they will teach how small fishes can catch.
Day 2: Kumarakom
Morning trip starts at 08:00 Hrs. Trip through small canal and Vembanadu Lake, B/F will be provided during the drip. The boat will finally come to Kumarakom Jetty by 08:45 Hrs – 09:00 Hrs. mportant Note – This programme is possible only if the guest check in at 12 P.M. Paddy fields is available from Oct to Feb only.
