Thegushing water is so hot that one can prepare food in it. The water in the springs is radioactive and so it also has got some medicinal value. It is believed that goddess Parvathi had lost her earrings at Manikaran and that gave birth to the hot springs.Being positioned at an elevation of 1,850 meter, Manikaran serves as a gateway to Kullu.
