Day 2 Thimphu

Complete immigration formalities in Phuentsholing, then drive to Thimphu through scenic mountain roads. En route, visit Kharbandi Monastery for stunning valley views, explore Gedu town, admire Chukka Bridge, and enjoy serene waterfalls. Arrive in Thimphu, check in at the hotel, and relax for the evening.

Day 3 Paro
Day 3:ExploreThimphu Sightseeings Later Proceed to Paro
Spend the day exploring Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital, known for its unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Morning Sightseeing:
- Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point) – Visit this magnificent 169-foot golden statue of Buddha, perched on a hill offering breathtaking panoramic views of Thimphu valley.
- Memorial Chorten – A sacred stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s third king, known for its stunning architecture and spiritual significance. Locals can be seen walking around it, chanting prayers.
- Tashichho Dzong – The majestic fortress and monastery that houses the King’s office and government headquarters, with beautiful gardens and intricate Bhutanese architecture.
Afternoon Sightseeing:
- Simply Bhutan Museum – Experience Bhutanese culture firsthand at this living museum, showcasing traditional architecture, folk dances, and local arts.
- National Library– Home to an extensive collection of Buddhist manuscripts, scriptures, and ancient texts. A must-visit for history lovers.
Evening (If Time Permits):
- Sangaygang Viewpoint – Also called BBS Tower, this spot offers spectacular sunset views over Thimphu.
- The Art of Handcrafts Market – Explore Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs at this vibrant market.
- Takin Preserve (Takin Zoo) – Visit the national animal of Bhutan, the rare and unique-looking Takin, found only in the Himalayas.
After a fulfilling day, proceed to Paro for your overnight stay, it’s just an hour away from Thimphu 49.9km. -
Day 4 Phuentsholing
Day 4: Paro – Either Tiger’s Nest Trekking or Chelela Pass Excursion & Return to Phuentsholing
Morning: Choose Your Adventure
Begin your day early with one of the two breathtaking experiences:
- Tiger’s Nest Trek (Paro Taktsang): A 4–5 hour trek to Bhutan’s most iconic monastery, perched on a cliff at 3,120m, offering spiritual and scenic beauty.
- Chelela Pass Excursion: A drive to Bhutan’s highest motorable pass (3,988m) with stunning Himalayan views and peaceful hiking trails.
Afternoon: Optional Visit & Return to Phuentsholing
If time allows, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, symbolizing Buddhism’s deep roots in the country.
After sightseeing, embark on a 5–6 hour drive back to Phuentsholing.
