Leaving the bustling plains of West Bengal behind, the drive takes you through charming tea gardens, small villages, dense forests, and picturesque countryside before reaching the Indo-Bhutan border town of Phuntsholing. The journey usually takes around 45min to 1 hours
Phuntsholing serves as Bhutan’s commercial gateway and is the only town where Bhutanese and Indian cultures blend seamlessly. Unlike the quiet mountain towns further inside Bhutan, Phuntsholing offers a lively atmosphere with bustling markets and vibrant streets.

As you ascend into the Himalayas, the landscape transforms dramatically from subtropical forests into cool pine-covered mountains. The winding mountain roads offer spectacular views of deep valleys, cascading waterfalls, rivers, prayer flags fluttering in the breeze, and traditional Bhutanese villages nestled along the hillsides.
