Day 1 · Kashmir
Arriving Srinagar And Transfer to Gulmarg
On arrival check in at the Hotel. Gulmarg is Originally called ‘Gaurimarg’ by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned with wild flowers. It was a favorite haunt of Emperor Jahangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here. Today Gulmarg is not merely a mountain resort of exceptional beauty but also a the highest green golf course in the world, at an altitude of 2,650 m, & is the country’s premier ski resort in the winter. Also known as the “Meadow of Wild Flowersâ€. After Noon we have a full day Sightseeing in Gulmarg. It is one of the most beautiful resorts in the valley. It is 52kms from Srinagar. Gulmarg has been a resort for the kings like Yousuf Shah Chak and Jahangir who used to visit frequently. Gulmarg boasts Asia’s highest and longest cable car project, the Gulmarg Gondola. The two-stage ropeway ferries about 600 people per hour to and from Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak, 4,200 m (13,780 ft). You can also try skiing on your own. Day 2 · Pahalgam
Gulmarg to Pahalgam
After Breakfast we check out at the hotel in Gulmarg and drive to Pahalgam . On arrival check-in at the hotel. Pahalgam (The valley of shepherds) on the National Highway 1A. This road connects the Valley to the rest of the country. We drive past the saffron fields of Pampore, the marvellous ruins of Avantipura and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. You can even sample a few exotic breads sold by vendors near the road. We switch the the national highway at Khanabal and drive through the second largest city of Anantnag. From here the road turns scenic as we drive parallel on the Lidder river flowing from the opposite direction. En-route, visiting the saffron fields of Pampore, Awantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by the King Awantivarman), and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Drive through the pine forests. Arrive at Pahalgam and enjoy Lidder stream. Later walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains.Dinner and Overnight stay at the Hotel.
