This wildlife sanctuary is home to tigers and a significant elephant population, as well as rare lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards and Indian bison. In the park's north, Periyar Lake is popular for boat rides. Farther north, spice plantations surround the town of Kumily.

A boat ride in Kerala is unique as it engages all five senses. The unhurried pace of the boats allows you to relax and soak in the surroundings. For overnight stays, houseboats have comfortable rooms equipped with television, sometimes even Wi-Fi and a dining area to enjoy your meals. The staff on board can catch fresh fish which they are happy to cook for you on the spot. However, this will cost you extra and the prices tend to be on a higher side.
The present Kerala boats are in different sizes according to the rooms and salons (salone / large hall) it covers. Mostly, they are 95 feet to 107 feet in length and 13 to 19 feet width at the middle. All the raw materials needed for the construction of the houseboats are Eco-friendly. The hull is made of wooden planks tied together by ropes of coconut fiber. The common wood used in the making of it is locally called ‘Anjili’. The roof is made up of bamboo poles and thatched with palm leaves. To prevent the wood from deterioration, cashew nut oil which works as an Eco friendly protective varnish, is used to pain the exterior of the boat.

Just south, Papanasam Beach is believed to have holy waters. On a nearby hill, the ancient Janardanaswamy Temple is a Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Vishnu. Farther inland, the Sivagiri Mutt monument memorializes the social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, who is buried here.etc. then proceed to Trivendrum. Over night stay in Hotel.

After breakfast proceed to Sree Padmnabh swami temple & Thiruvananthapuram (or Trivandrum) is the capital of the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's distinguished by its British colonial architecture and many art galleries. It’s also home to Kuthira Malika (or Puthen Malika) Palace, adorned with carved horses and displaying collections related to the Travancore royal family, whose regional capital was here from the 18th–20th centuries. later proceed to Trivendrum Airport to catch the flight for onward journey.
