  1. Day 1 Darjeeling

    NJP to Darjeeling + Local Sightseeing:

    After a wholesome breakfast, begin your journey towards Darjeeling, famously known as the Queen of the Hills, situated at an altitude of 7,000 feet. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into one of breathtaking beauty, surrounded by sprawling tea gardens and crowned by the magnificent Himalayas.
    Darjeeling, with its charming colonial architecture and scenic vistas, offers a perfect blend of nature and culture. The view of the majestic mountains and rolling hills will leave you mesmerized as you approach this hill station.
    Upon arrival, the evening is free for you to explore the famous Mall Road. Take a leisurely stroll along the bustling street, visit local shops, and enjoy the cool mountain breeze.

    • Early Morning: Sunrise at Tiger Hill
    o Begin your day early with a visit to Tiger Hill to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Kanchenjunga range. This is a must-see experience in Darjeeling, as the sun’s first rays cast a golden glow over the mountains. It's an early start (around 4:00 AM), so prepare for the chilly morning temperatures.
    • Visit Batasia Loop
    o After sunrise, head to Batasia Loop, a unique spiral railway track that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and Darjeeling. The area is also home to a war memorial dedicated to the soldiers of the Indian Army.
    • Visit Ghoom Monastery (Yiga Choeling Monastery)
    o From Batasia Loop, head to Ghoom Monastery, which is one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling. It houses a large statue of Maitreya Buddha and offers a peaceful atmosphere.
    • Visit Dali Monastery
    o After Ghoom, take a short drive to Dali Monastery, also known as the Drukpa Kagyud Monastery. This monastery is located on the outskirts of Darjeeling and offers a serene environment and beautiful views.
    • Zoological Park and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
    o Head towards the Darjeeling Zoo (Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park) to see wildlife unique to the region, such as snow leopards, red pandas, and Himalayan wolves. The zoo is located close to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which you can also visit to learn about mountaineering history and Tenzing Norgay’s legacy.

    • Visit Tenzing Rock
