It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India, it is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas. Among these, Tripurasundari, Matangi and Kamala reside inside the main temple whereas the other seven reside in individual temples. It is an important pilgrimage destination for General Hindu and especially for Tantric worshipers. Go for a short trek of the village and see the Khasi way of life and meet the locals. • Dawki and river Umgnot, with pictures of crystal clear waters popular in the social media. You can have a bath over here, enjoy local boating. • Single Decker Bridge - Right at the midway while going downhill, you’ll get a different path, indicating the route towards Single Decker Living Root Bridge. After that go to cherrapunjee and overnight Stay in Cherrapunjee.

Day 5: Double Decker Bridge – Trekking (Not advisable with small kids)

After breakfast get ready for trekking: • DOUBLE DECKER BRIDGE - As the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Living Root Bridge, a natural bridge formed with the roots of the trees. A little hiking is required to see the magnificent bridge (hiking approx. 1 hour). Then visit the balancing rock, a small stone holding a big rock by balancing it on above it and the Tree House (watch tower) made by the local people of the village. • Rainbow Falls The trek to the Rainbow Falls: starts from Nongriat Double Decker Bridge and it will take 1 to 2 hours to complete the trek. The Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat village is accessible only by trek from Tyrna village. One needs to reach Tyrna by bus or cab. It is a 3 km challenging hike which includes around 3500 odd concrete steps one way. The total trek takes around 5 to 6 hours to complete. After that back to Cherrapunjee hotel and overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Day 6: Explore Cherrapunjee off beat places - Approx. 05 Hrs.

After breakfast get ready for cherrapunjee off beat locations: • Garden of Caves is a natural space, created by seasonal waterfalls and fed by rains. Surrounded by the emerald greens of bushes and hedges, the place is home to caves, waterfalls and cascades. It was officially inaugurated as a tourist spot on 9th Dec, 2010 and has, thus, become a place explored by those who travel on the road less travelled. • Eco Park has been designed by the Meghalaya government to facilitate tourist to enjoy the ‘Green Canyons “of Sohraas well as the waterfalls that lie around it. There is a stream inside the park and one has to cross a bridge to get near the edge of the canyon. • Weisawdong Waterfall – The 3 step fall is most beautiful thing. This is beautiful beyond expression. However it tests your physical ability to enjoy the view. I think its 200 meters of steep 75-90 degree trek without any proper stairs. Day 7: Cherrapunjee Local Tour - Proceed to Guwahati - Approx. 05 Hrs.

The fall at a height of 1033 feet plunges over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills, but only during the rainy season. • Mawkdok Dympep Valley View / Duwan Sing Syiem Bridge: located at the very start of Sohra tourist circuit, is one of the most prominent attractions of the place. The forest department has made a view-point at this valley from where tourists can enjoy and appreciate the natural beauty of the valley. Most Tourists get the first view of the Mawkdok Dympep Valley, which extends right up to Cherrapunjee, from this view point. Getting a clear view is a matter of chance as mostly it is obscured by clouds.
