. Tibetian Monastery / Golden Temple Located in Bylakuppe, the Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. Its initial structure was a temple constructed from bamboo, covering an area of approximately 80 square feet. Carved from the jungle that the Indian government generously granted Tibetan exiles, initial challenges included rampaging elephants and other tropical dangers. 2. Nisargadhama Forest Park The 64-acre island, surrounded by the Cauvery river, can be accessed by walking across a hanging bridge. Established in 1989, the picturesque picnic spot with lush foliage of thick bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees has lovely river-side cottages. Elephant rides and boating are some of the other attractions.. 3. Dubare Elephant Camp The elephant camp boasts of plenty of elephants and offers tourists with an exceptional opportunity to be close to them and spend some memorable moments with them. It is the place where elephants used to be trained for Mysore Dussehra. However, now these animals are used for jungle rides. These elephants are trained under naturalists. 4. White Water River Rafting Coorg, located in a mountainous region is one of the sought out places for Whitewater Rafting, as the gradient offers the best conditions for speedy waters flowing over rocks causing drops in the river known as rapids in rafting, running through these rapids is what makes rafting an adventure to remember. 5. Omkareshwara Temple The Omkareshwara Temple is an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated in the town of Madikeri in Coorg, Karnataka. The speciality of the temple is that its construction reflects a mix of Gothic and Islamic styles. The Omkareshwara Temple was constructed by King Linga Rajendra II in the 18th century. Legend has it that the temple was built by the king as a form of penance.
