Start your Day with a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel and head for a half-day sightseeing of Goa, covering the 15th century Reis Magos Fort which was built to protect the narrowest point at the mouth of the Mandovi estuary. Proceed to Fort Aguada and its Lighthouse, a Portuguese fort that stands on the beach south of Candolim and at the shore of Mandovi river. It was built in 1612 in order to guard the Portuguese empire against the Dutch and the Marathas and offers an expansive view of the Arabian sea. After breakfast, head to explore South Goa. Begin with visiting Shri Mangueshi Temple, one of the largest and most frequented temples in Goa, it is dedicated to Lord Manguesh (an incarnation of Lord Shiva). From there, head to Shantadurga Temple which is a private temple complex belonging to Goud Saraswat Brahmin community and is dedicated to Shantadurga, the goddess who mediates between Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Both the temples are located in Kavlem, Priol. After that, proceed towards the churches of old Goa. Starting with the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier and is one of the best examples of baroque architecture in India. Next stop would be Se Cathedral which was built from 1562-1640 to commemorate the victory of the Portuguese over a Muslim army. Inside the cathedral hangs a large bell known as the ‘Golden Bell’ which is the largest in Goa and one of the best in the world.
