8 Nights 9 Days North-East Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and a ride to Gangtok from the Airport/Railway Station.
Meet and greet at the Airport/NJP Railway Station after which the journey commences. Overnight stay at Gangtok
Day 2: Trip to Lachung and visit other main attractions while on the way Lachung
Destination: Lachung (8,610ft, 118kms from Gangtok) Duration: Depends on the condition of roads and the weather Description of the Trip: Early morning ride to Lachung from Gangtok. While the journey visit other tourist attractions like Twin Waterfalls, Seven Sisters Waterfall, Singhik View Point and others. Lunch at a local restaurant on the way to the destination. Check in at the hotel during late afternoon. Overnight stay at Lachung.
Day 3: Trip to Yumthang Valley (11,800ft, 24kms from Lachung)
Description of the trip: Early morning drive to Yumthang Valley, which is an Alpine flower valley in North Sikkim. Enjoy the scenic landscape and Hot spring and drive back to Lachung for Lunch. (Optional tour to Yumesamdong Valley or Zero Point close to Tibet Border (15,000ft, 23kms from Yumthang) for Indian tourists only (at extra cost 3000/- per vehicle on prior notice)). After lunch pack and head back to Gangtok for continuation of the trip. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 4: Head towards Pelling for the continuation of the tour.
Drive towards Pelling (7,200ft, 115kms from Gangtok). Overnight stay at Pelling.
Day 5: Sightseeing at Pelling and its nearby attractions
Description of the tour: After breakfast start for a full day sightseeing. Visit Darap Village, Rimbi Water Falls, Rimbi Power Project, Rock Garden, Kanchenjunga falls, Khechopari Lake (it is one of the sacred Buddhist lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true). Back to hotel for lunch. After lunch visit Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Palace Ruins. Overnight stay at Pelling.
Day 6: A ride to Darjeeling
Description: After a hearty breakfast drive to Darjeeling (7,200ft, 50 kms) from Kalimpong for the final leg of the tour. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 7: Sightseeing in Darjeeling and its nearby attractions
Description of the tour: Early Morning (at around 4 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak) (subject to clear weather). On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasay Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view) and Japanese Temple (4hrs from 9.00 to 13.00hrs). Evening free for shopping and personal activities. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 8: A ride to Kalimpong from Darjeeling and cover some of the mystic places for continuation of the tour
Description of the tour: After a healthy breakfast amidst the nature drive towards Kalimpong (4,100ft,) and go for sightseeing covering Army Golf course, Durpin Monastery, Pine view nursery, Mangal Dham, Delo Hill. Overnight stay at Kalimpong.
