5 Nights 6 Days North-East Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) and transfer to Gangtok
Meet and Greet on arrival at NJP / Bagdogra and transfer to Gangtok. After arrival we check-in at the hotel. The evening is free for the guests to explore Gangtok at leisure. Our recommendation: • Visit to MG Marg is recommended. • Shopaholics can spend time at MG Marg and Lal Bazar. • One can visit Curio Craft Gallery on PS Road and Sikkim Handloom & Handicraft at Zero Point to buy traditional Buddhist and Sikkimese art work, handloom, bamboo works, etc In the evening we return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
A day excursion to Tsomgo Lake, situated at a height of 3,780 meters with a depth of 50 ft. Visit Baba Mandir – a shrine dedicated in memory of sepoy Harbhajan Singh (Harbhajan Singh had drowned in a glacier. Legend has it that he himself helped the search party to find his body. Still later, through a dream he instructed one of his colleagues to build and maintain a shrine in his memory). Optional: A ride to Nathu La (Nathu La is an offshoot of the historic Silk Route which connected Lhasa in Tibet to the plains of Bengal): As special permit is needed to visit Nathu La (closed on Monday and Tuesday), prior intimation by the guest is required. Furthermore, extra amount will be charged for the ride.
Day 3: Gangtok to Lachung
After breakfast we check out from our hotel in Gangtok & transfer to Lachung (altitude 8610 ft) via Phodong, Mangan, Singhik, Chungthang and Maltim. This long drive takes us through some of the most beautiful hills in the eastern Himalayan region. We stop en-route for a self sponsored lunch. After arrival we check-in at our hotel.
Day 4: Excursion to Yumthang Valley and back to Gangtok
Early Morning we head out to Yumthang-Valley, famous for its varieties of Rhododendron, Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis (myth). On the way back visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. After the tour we head back to Lachung for lunch. Post lunch we leave for Gangtok.
Day 5: In Gangtok full day sightseeing
After breakfast we proceed towards 3 points. Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok and Tashi view point. Later we head towards 7 points covering Jhakri Falls, Ranka Monastery, Research Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays and Govt. holidays), Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (closed on Sunday and Govt. holidays) and Flower Show. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 6: Gangtok to New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (XIB)
Bid adieu to these enchanting hills and drive down to the plains as you take back everlasting memories.
