Taxis are available to and from the airport to take you to Shimla. By Road: Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HMTC) runs several private and public buses connecting Shimla to major North Indian cities. Chandigarh is 117km away from Shimla while Manali is 260km apart, and Delhi is at a distance of 343km. Overnight AC luxury buses are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Bus timings vary with season. Driving down Shimla can be an adventure. Beautiful roads and lush greenery accompany from Delhi through Outer Ring Road heading towards GT Karnal Road on NH1 to reach Ambala and follow NH 22 to reach Kalka. Keep moving on the same highway to Solan and then Shimla. It usually takes 6 to 7 hours.
