So fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a honeymoon adventure like no other!
Day 1: Arrive in Kochi
Your road trip adventure begins in Kochi, also known as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea." Start your journey by exploring the charming streets of Fort Kochi, filled with colonial buildings and vibrant markets. Don't miss the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets and the historical St. Francis Church. In the evening, catch a Kathakali performance, a traditional dance drama unique to Kerala. Finally, indulge in some mouth-watering seafood delicacies at a local restaurant before retiring for the night.
Day 2: Kochi to Munnar
On day 2, hit the road to Munnar, a hill station famous for its sprawling tea plantations and misty landscapes. The drive to Munnar is a treat for the eyes, with winding roads flanked by lush green tea gardens. Along the way, visit the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls, where you can take a refreshing dip. In Munnar, explore the tea gardens, go for a romantic walk along the scenic Mattupetty Dam, and enjoy a tea tasting session at a tea estate. Spend the night in a cozy resort nestled amidst the hills.
Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady
After breakfast, drive from Munnar to Thekkady, home to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Thekkady is known for its wildlife, spice plantations, and the Periyar Lake. Take a boat safari on the lake, where you might spot elephants, tigers, and an array of bird species in their natural habitat. In the evening, enjoy a spice plantation tour and learn about the various spices grown in the region. Spend the night in a comfortable hotel or resort in Thekkady.
Day 4: Thekkady to Alleppey
Today, you will drive to Alleppey, the gateway to the famous backwaters of Kerala. Along the way, soak in the scenic beauty as you pass through quaint villages and paddy fields. Arrive in Alleppey and board a houseboat for an enchanting overnight cruise on the backwaters. Glide through the tranquil canals, watch the villagers go about their daily lives, and savor delicious Kerala cuisine prepared on board. Enjoy the sunset from the deck of your houseboat and spend a magical night surrounded by the serene backwaters.
Day 5: Alleppey to Kovalam
After breakfast on the houseboat, bid adieu to the backwaters and head towards the golden shores of Kovalam beach. Kovalam is one of Kerala's most popular beach destinations, known for its pristine beaches and laid-back vibe. Spend the day relaxing on the sandy shores, getting pampered with Ayurvedic massages, and taking long romantic walks along the coastline. In the evening, witness a breathtaking sunset and indulge in a romantic candlelight dinner by the beach. Stay overnight in a beachfront resort in Kovalam.
