8 Nights 9 Days Lachung Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and a ride to Gangtok from the Airport/Railway Station.
Meet and greet at the Airport/NJP Railway Station after which the journey commences. Overnight stay at Gangtok
Day 2: Trip to Lachen and visit other main attractions while on the way Lachen
Destination: Lachen Duration: Depends on the condition of roads and the weather Description of the Trip: Early morning ride to Lachen from Gangtok. While the journey visit other tourist attractions like Twin Waterfalls, Seven Sisters Waterfall, Singhik View Point and others. Lunch at a local restaurant on the way to the destination. Check in at the hotel during late afternoon. Overnight stay at Lachen.
Day 3: Trip to Thangu, Chopta Valley, Gurudongmar Lake and drive to Lachung
Description of the trip: Early morning ride to Thangu . Visit Chopta Valley which is very rich in alpine vegetation. Drive towards Gurudongmar Lake (applicable only for Indian Nationality people). Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest situated lakes in North Sikkim. Remember the altitude here may cause breathing problem. After the trip return back to hotel & leave for Lachung. After reaching Lachung check in a hotel and an overnight stay at Lachung.
Day 4: Trip to Yumthang Valley
Description of the trip: Early morning drive to Yumthang Valley, which is an Alpine flower valley in North Sikkim. Enjoy the scenic landscape and Hot spring and drive back to Lachung for Lunch. (Optional tour to Yumesamdong Valley or Zero Point close to Tibet Border for Indian tourists only (at extra cost 3000/- per vehicle on prior notice)). Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 5: A trip to Tsomgo Lake and its nearby attractions
Destination: Tsomgo lake. Trip Description: After a hearty breakfast start the tour to Tsomgo Lake. The lake is 1 km long, oval in shape and 50ft deep. Here you can witness snow, snowfall (if you’re lucky) & Yak Riding. Visit to the legendary Baba Mandir. Optional tour to Nathula Pass (The Indo-China border) depends upon the availability of permit which costs an additional of Rs3000 per vehicle (Monday and Tuesday the pass is closed). Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 6: Sightseeing in Gangtok and its nearby tourist’s attractions
Description of the tour: Early morning visit to the holy Rumtek Monastery and the majestic Banjhakri Falls. Sightseeing in Gangtok and visit nearby attractions like Ropeway. Do-Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Sunday Closed) & Flower Show (Orchid). Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 7: Head towards Darjeeling
Destination: Darjeeling Distance: 100kms from Gangtok Overnight stay at Darjeeling
Day 8: Sightseeing in Darjeeling and its nearby attractions
Starting time: Early morning (if you are to see the sunrise) Destination: Tiger Hills, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and others. Description of the tour: Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8482 Ft / 2586 meters at around 4 AM) to see the sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast go for a half-day sight seeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Darjeeling Ropeway Ride (Ticket cost not included & will be approx INR 180.00 per person and is closed on 19th of every month) Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & panoramic view of Tea Estate. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 9: Dropping at the Airport/Station
Drop to Bagdogra Airport / NJP railway station according to the schedule. Tour Ends.
