Explore Dalhousie Tourism

Dalhousie is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, India, known for its picturesque landscapes and colonial-era buildings. Established in 1854 by the British Empire's government in India as a summer retreat, it is situated on the western edge of the Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas, providing it with a cool climate and scenic beauty. Spread over five hills near the Dhauladhar mountain range, Dalhousie is surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The town's elevation ranges between 1,525 meters (5,003 ft) and 2,378 meters (7,800 ft) above sea level. The quaint town is characterized by its colonial architecture, including St. Francis and St. John's Churches, which date back to the rule of the British Raj in the 1800s. Dalhousie is covered with dense forests of pine, deodar, oak, and flowering rhododendron. The town has several walking trails, including the popular pathways to Panchpula, Kalatop, and Khajjiar. It's also a gateway to the ancient Chamba Hill State, known for its rich history and culture.
