8 Nights 9 Days Thekkady Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
On arrival at Cochin Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, take a transfer to your hotel. Check into the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Later in the afternoon, go on a sightseeing tour of Cochin and visit the attractions like the Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue and Chinese fishing nets on the harbor. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Cochin-Munnar (130 km/approx. 4 hour drive)
Early Morning Pickup from Hotel and then proceed on a drive through the picturesque countryside of Munnar. Enroute, Visit Valara Waterfalls to Munnar. Arrive & check-in to the hotel. Visit tea plantations in the evening at Devikulam. Thereafter enjoy a comfortable overnight at your hotel
Day 3: Munnar | Local sightseeing tour
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for local sightseeing tour covering Maatupetty Dam & Echo Point. Visit TATA Tea Museum. The museum is closed on Monday. Also visit Eravikulam National Park to get a view of variety of flora and fauna. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Stay overnight at your hotel in Munnar.
Day 4: Munnar - Thekkady | Spice Plantation Tour & Periyar Lake (110 km/3.5 hours)
After breakfast, proceed to Thekkady. En route visit Nedumkandam Chillies Spice Garden for a brief spice plantation tour. You may also indulge in spice shopping (on direct payment basis). There are various kinds of spices cultivated in Thekkady. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper. Also, there is a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantations in Thekkady. Arrive in Thekkady & check-in to your hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for a boat ride (to be paid directly ) on Periyar Lake situated inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is synonymous with wildlife and nature treks. In the evening, visit the theatre (non air-conditioned) to have a first hand experience of arts and crafts through the traditional Kalari Show (on direct payment basis). After that, you can either shop in the local market or opt for an elephant ride (on direct payment basis). Day 5: Thekkady - Kumarakom/Alleppey (156 km/ 4 hour drive)
After a delectable breakfast, check-out from the hotel in Thekkady and drive to Alleppey. Upon arrival, Check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or take an optional cruise on the backwaters. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Alleppey -Kovalam (190 km/approx. 5 hour drive) via Trivendrum
After enjoying breakfast, drive to Kovalam (a delightful beach town located 16 km away from Thiruvananthapuram). Enroute, visit The Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple, Trivandrum Zoo, Shanghumukham beach, etc.at Trivandrum. Upon arrival, Check-in to your hotel.
Day 7: Kovalam
After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing of Trivandrum City, Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple, Ganapathy Temple, Napier Museum, Kuthiramalika,Zoo, shangumukham Beach Etc . Overnight at Kovalam.
Day 8: Kovalam Kanyakumari Kovalam
After breakfast proceed to Kanyakumari- On the way visit Padmanabha Puram Palace, Suchindrum Temple. Later proceed for the sightseeing o fVivekananda Rock, Tiruvalluvar Statue, Gandhi Memorial,Sunset Point, Temple & Beach. In the Evening return to Kovalam for Overnight Stay.
Day 9: Kovalam-Trivandrum Departure (16 kms/ 45 min approx)
After an appetizing breakfast, check out of the hotel. Drive to Trivandrum and transfer to railway station/airport for onward journey. The tour concludes with memories unlimited!
