Paro is a picturesque valley in the Kingdom of Bhutan, nestled among the Himalayas. It is home to many of Bhutan's oldest temples and monasteries, as well as the country's only international airport. One of the most iconic landmarks in Paro is the Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest, perched on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. The town of Paro exudes charm with its traditional architecture and serene environment. The valley is fertile and lush, with rice fields and quaint farmhouses dotting the landscape, framed by mountains with snowy peaks, offering stunning scenic views. The Paro River running through the valley adds to its natural beauty. This town is also the starting point for numerous treks into the Himalayas. It embodies the rich culture and heritage of Bhutan, with festivities such as the Paro Tshechu, which is a major attraction, drawing both locals and tourists. The National Museum of Bhutan is another highlight, housed in an ancient watchtower, offering insight into Bhutanese culture and history.
