Kyichu Lhakhang Tourism

Kyichu Lhakhang is one of Bhutan's oldest and most beautiful temples, believed to have been built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor Songtsen Gampo. The temple is a fine example of the architectural traditions of Bhutan. It consists of two main structures: the original Jowo Lhakhang built in the 7th century and the Guru Lhakhang added in the 20th century. Kyichu Lhakhang holds significant religious importance and is a treasure trove of ancient relics, wall paintings, and intricate woodwork that illustrate the sophisticated craftsmanship of Bhutanese artisans. The inner hall houses a revered statue of Jowo Sakyamuni, considered to be the most sacred image in Bhutan. Surrounded by well-kept gardens and adorned with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind, the temple offers a tranquil and meditative atmosphere. It attracts pilgrims and tourists alike who come to seek blessings and absorb the serene vibes of this holy site. The temple's spiritual aura, coupled with its rich historical legacy, makes it a pivotal landmark for anyone visiting Paro in Bhutan.
