The Botanical Garden in Karaganda, also known as the Botanical Garden of Karaganda State University, is an oasis of biodiversity in the heart of Kazakhstan's industrial city, Karaganda. Spanning approximately 43 hectares, this verdant space serves as both a research institution and a tranquil retreat for residents and visitors alike. Karaganda's Botanical Garden hosts a variety of flora, including local and exotic plants, arranged in thematic sections. Founded in the 20th century, the garden is not only a place for conservation and study of plant species but also an educational platform for students of botany and ecology. It features several greenhouses where tropical and subtropical plants thrive. The open-air sections display a collection of trees, shrubs, and flowers suited to the continental climate of the region. Designed with walking paths, small ponds, and decorative sculptures, the garden becomes particularly lively during the spring and summer when the plants are in full bloom. It also hosts seasonal exhibitions and events promoting environmental awareness and education among the community.
