The Friday Mosque of Herat, also known as the Masjid Jami, Masjid-i Jum'a, or the Great Mosque of Herat, is a historic mosque located in Herat city, within Herat Province of Afghanistan. It is one of the oldest mosques in the country and encapsulates the architectural evolution that has occurred in the region over centuries. The mosque was first established by the Ghurids in the 1200s, and much of the current structure dates back to the 15th century under the rule of the Timurids. It has been modified and rebuilt several times throughout its history. The mosque is famous for its intricate tile work and calligraphy, brimming with vibrant colors and Islamic art. The design features a vast courtyard surrounded by colonnades and iwans, with a series of elaborate domes and minarets that add to its grandeur. The site encompasses both spiritual and cultural significance, serving as a center for worship and a testament to the city’s historical role as a center of Islamic culture and learning.

Friday Prayer
Some friends took me there for Friday Prayer ????????. The Mosque ???? is not all that beautiful but the The serman is definitely gets you moving. Definitely it should be a place to visit.
