Hanbat Arboretum is the largest man-made arboretum in South Korea, located in the city of Daejeon. Covering an extensive area, it is part of the larger Daejeon Expo Science Park, which stems from the 1993 Daejeon Expo. The arboretum is divided into multiple themed gardens and showcases a vast array of plant species, both indigenous and exotic. It is meticulously designed to provide an educational experience as well as leisure opportunities for visitors of all ages. Diverse ecosystems are represented here, from wetlands to flower gardens, conifer forests, and a traditional Korean garden. The layout encourages peaceful walks and relaxation while allowing for the study of plant biodiversity and ecology. Hanbat Arboretum functions not only as a green lung in the city but also as a hub for botanical research and conservation efforts. The ever-changing seasonal beauty ranging from cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, rich autumn foliage, and serene snowscapes in winter, makes the arboretum a year-round attraction. Its integration with the cityscape makes it a favorite spot for family outings, nature photography, and cultural events.
