Lunglei is a scenic town and the second-largest municipality after Aizawl in Mizoram, India. Located in southern Mizoram, Lunglei, meaning 'bridge of rock' in the local Mizo language, is named after a bridge-like rock found in the riverine area around Nghasih – a tributary of the Tlawng River. It serves as the administrative headquarters of Lunglei District and is an important cultural and educational center. The town is perched at an elevation of about 722 meters above sea level and is flanked by rich natural beauty, comprising lush green hills, verdant valleys, and serpentine rivers.
