Rourkela Steel Plant Tourism

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), located in Rourkela, Odisha, India, is the first integrated steel plant in the public sector in India. Commenced in the 1950s with German collaboration, it was set up with a capacity of 1 million tonnes and modernization over the years has increased its capacity multiple folds. RSP currently operates as a part of the state-owned Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). It produces a wide range of steel products, including world-class flat and long steel materials that are used for various applications across industries. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and represents a symbol of industrial advancement for the region and the country. Beyond its industrial significance, the RSP complex also includes a beautiful township with lush greenery, residential areas, and amenities for employees.
