Solomon's Throne, also known as Sulayman Mountain, is a prominent historical and spiritual site located in Osh, a city in southwestern Kyrgyzstan. Regarded as a sacred mountain since pre-Islamic times, it has long been a place of pilgrimage for Muslims. It is believed that the biblical Prophet Solomon (Sulayman, in the Quran) once prayed at this site. The mountain offers panoramic views of Osh city and its surroundings. At its peak stands the Takht-i-Sulaiman Mosque, a prominent structure believed to contain a footprint of Prophet Muhammad. Solomon's Throne was also a major landmark on the ancient Silk Road, the trade route that connected East and West. The site encompasses an archaeological and historical museum that exhibits artifacts of the region's rich cultural history. Furthermore, it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which underscores its historical and cultural significance. In addition to its religious importance, Solomon's Throne is a natural wonder, featuring rugged cliffs and unique rock formations, surrounded by lush greenery especially in spring and summer.
