Sultan Mosque, also known as Masjid Sultan, is a prominent landmark located at the heart of the Kampong Glam Malay-Muslim quarter in Singapore. Designed by Denis Santry from Swan and McLaren, the mosque features a massive golden dome and is an important focal point for the Muslim community. The mosque's current structure was completed in 1928 and is an architectural marvel that combines Indian Islamic elements with some modern touches. Gazing upon its massive prayer hall, with space for up to 5,000 worshippers, one can't help but admire the serene beauty and grandeur of this site. Its large golden domes and tall minarets dominate the skyline, serving as a beacon for the faithful. Surrounding the mosque is the culturally rich district of Kampong Glam, where one can explore the traditional shops selling textiles, crafts, and Malay-Indonesian cuisine. Bugis, located nearby, presents a more bustling atmosphere with a mix of modern shopping malls and traditional street markets, making this area a melting pot of old and new Singapore.

It’s pretty impressive from the outside but there’s not much to see inside. Most people would be ok with a walk-by. Admission is free.
