Situated on the south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland, Glasgow Science Centre is a premier attraction for visitors of all ages interested in science and technology. Officially opened in June 2001, this modern complex aims to inspire and engage people with science through interactive exhibits and engaging demonstrations. Designed by Building Design Partnership, the centre now stands as part of Glasgow's modern waterfront development. The titanium-clad building is striking, featuring a distinctive and futuristic architecture. An adjacent Glasgow Tower provides panoramic views of the city, and at 127 meters tall, it is currently the tallest fully rotatable freestanding structure in the world. The Science Mall, one of its three main buildings, houses hundreds of hands-on exhibits spread across three floors, exploring themes from energy to environment and space. It also includes the Scottish Power Planetarium and the Glasgow Science Centre IMAX cinema, which features a screen taller than a six-story building. This educative hub is a fun, interactive centre that fosters curiosity and knowledge about the world we live in and beyond, making it ideal for family visits and educational trips.
