Acre Port, also known as the Old Port of Acre, is a historical harbor situated in the city of Acre, or Akko, in northern Israel. This ancient port has a rich history that dates back to the Bronze Age. Over the centuries, it has witnessed various civilizations, including the Canaanites, Greeks, Romans, Crusaders, Mamluks, and Ottomans. Today, Acre Port still retains much of its historical charm, with its old city walls, fortresses, and Ottoman-era buildings. Visitors can explore the remnants of the Crusader structures under the present-day city, as well as the vibrant marketplaces, museums, mosques, and baths that reflect Acre's diverse cultural heritage. The port is functional but now serves mainly as a marina for small boats and a picturesque backdrop for tourists. The Acre Port is part of the Old City of Acre, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, honoring its long-standing cultural significance and superbly preserved architectural legacy.
