Al-Jazzar Mosque, also known as the White Mosque, is located in the coastal city of Acre (Akko) in the Northern District of Israel. Built in the late 18th century by the Ottoman Bosnian governor Ahmad Pasha al-Jazzar, the mosque is a formidable example of Ottoman architecture and has become one of the city's main landmarks. Its design reflects the classic Ottoman style, featuring a large dome, a spacious courtyard, and a towering minarets. The interior of the mosque is equally impressive, adorned with fine decorations, colorful Persian carpets, and an elegant prayer hall. The mosque also houses the tomb of al-Jazzar himself. Despite its historical association with the Ottoman period, Al-Jazzar Mosque continues to function as an active place of worship and plays a significant role in the religious life of Acre's Muslim community. Its proximity to the old city walls and other historic sites, such as the Citadel of Acre, makes it a pivotal stop in any tour of the ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
