Aqaba Marine Park is situated along the southern coast of the beautiful and historic city of Aqaba in Jordan, which is the only coastal city in the country and lies at the northeastern tip of the Red Sea. Established in 1997, the park serves as a protected area, encompassing some of the most pristine coral reefs and marine life found in the Red Sea. Spanning an area of over seven kilometers, the Aqaba Marine Park's primary aim is to conserve the delicate marine biodiversity while promoting sustainable tourism and environmental education. Visitors can indulge in various aquatic activities, including snorkeling, diving, and glass-bottom boating, to observe the rich underwater ecosystems that thrive here. The park is home to over 500 species of fish and 127 species of corals. Alongside its ecological importance, the Aqaba Marine Park also works towards the preservation of important cultural and historical resources within its boundaries. Facilities like snorkeling and dive centers, beaches, and visitor information centers make the park accessible and enjoyable for tourists. Its management practices include artificial reef deployment, anti-pollution measures, and regular scientific monitoring.
