Ascension Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of the Ascension, is a stunning example of Russian Orthodox architecture located in the heart of Rostov-on-Don, Russia. It stands as a landmark of the city and one of the most significant religious buildings in the region. Construction of the cathedral began in 1908 and was completed in 1932, showcasing an elegant neoclassical style. It's one of the tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world, boasting a central dome that reaches a height of 87 meters. It features a breathtaking interior replete with religious artworks, iconographies, and frescoes. The cathedral remains an active place of worship and a symbol of the spiritual life of the community, attracting visitors and worshippers from across the region.
