Ashgabat Cable Car Tourism

The Ashgabat Cable Car, also known as the Ashgabat Kopet Dag Cable Car, is a scenic cable car system located in Ashgabat, the capital city of Turkmenistan. It provides an aerial link from the city to the foothills of the Kopet Dag mountains. Opened to the public in 2006, the cable car offers passengers a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding landscape while traveling to the viewing platform at the upper station. The journey covers a distance of roughly 4 kilometers and takes about 10 minutes one way. The cable car system is a significant tourist attraction in Ashgabat and is particularly popular because it offers a unique vantage point to observe the city's distinctive white marble architecture and expansive green spaces. Facilities at the upper station include a restaurant and a viewing area where visitors can enjoy the mountain scenery and fresh air. This attraction is not only a means of transportation but also a leisure activity that provides an escape from the bustling city below to the tranquility of the mountains.
