Baden-Powell Peak, also known as Urkema Peak, is located in the Helambu region of Nepal and forms part of the Langtang Himal range. The peak was renamed in 2007 in honor of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement, to commemorate the centennial of Scouting. It stands at a height of 5,718 meters (18,753 feet) and has become a popular destination for trekkers and mountaineers. The peak offers stunning views of the Langtang range and the rich cultural experiences of the Tamang and Sherpa communities. The trek to the base camp of Baden-Powell Peak traverses through the lush forests of the Helambu region, dotted with Buddhist monasteries and picturesque villages. The climb itself is challenging but rewarding, with technical aspects that require good mountaineering skills. The journey to the summit provides climbers with an opportunity to experience the serenity and majesty of the Himalayas while also embracing the spiritual and cultural heritage of the local communities.
