Private Vehicle: If you are coming from Manila via private car, take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and continue onto the Subic–Clark–Tarl at Expressway (SCTEX) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX). Follow the signs leading to Ilocos, which will take you through La Union, then Ilocos Sur, with Vigan being the capital.
To reach Baluarte Zoo from the city center, you can hire a tricycle or a calesa (horse-drawn carriage), which are both locally available forms of transportation. It's just a short ride approximately 10-15 minutes from the heart of Vigan.
