Best Time To Visit Barak Waterfalls (Tamenglong) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Barak Waterfalls, Tamenglong

The Barak Waterfalls are located in the mesmerizing hills of Tamenglong district in Manipur, a region known for its lush greenery and rich biodiversity. The ideal time to visit Barak Waterfalls is during the post-monsoon months, particularly from October to April. During this period, the climate is pleasant with a minimal chance of rainfall, which not only makes the journey to the waterfalls more comfortable but also safer. The monsoons that precede these months recharge the waterfall, ensuring that visitors get to see the Barak in its full splendor, showcasing a robust flow and creating a captivating view amidst the verdant surroundings.

Visitors are advised to avoid the monsoon season, which typically runs from May to September, as the heavy rains can make the roads leading to the falls treacherous and the area prone to landslides. Additionally, the water level during the monsoon can be unpredictably high, which might restrict access to certain spots around the falls for safety reasons. The cooler months, especially November to February, offer an excellent opportunity for sightseeing activities around Tamenglong and experiencing the waterfalls without the discomfort of the seasonal humidity or the intense summer heat prevalent in other months.
