Best Time to Visit Byrdaw Falls, Dawki

Byrdaw Falls in Dawki, Meghalaya, is a scenic marvel tucked away in the lush greenery of Northeast India. The ideal time to visit Byrdaw Falls is during the post-monsoon months, typically from late September to early December. This period allows travelers to witness the waterfall in its full glory, with the monsoon rains having replenished the water levels, ensuring a spectacular cascade. Moreover, the weather during these months is pleasant, with minimal rainfall, which makes exploring the surrounding landscapes and engaging in outdoor activities such as boating on the clear waters of the Umngot River a delightful experience.

Additionally, the winter season, between December and February, is also a good time to visit, particularly for those who prefer cooler weather. While the flow of the waterfall may be less intense than in the immediate post-monsoon period, the clear skies and lower humidity levels provide comfortable conditions for sightseeing around Dawki and enjoying the serene ambiance at Byrdaw Falls. However, it is advisable to carry adequate warm clothing if visiting during the winter months, as temperatures can drop significantly, especially in the mornings and evenings. Avoid the monsoon season, from June to August, as heavy rains can cause flooding and make access to the falls dangerous.
