Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple is a significant religious landmark in Yangon, Myanmar. Renowned for housing one of the largest reclining Buddhas in the country, the temple showcases an exquisite image that measures approximately 66 meters in length. This incredible statue is richly adorned with colorful decorations, including golden robes and intricate glass mosaic designs on the soles of the feet which display the 108 auspicious characteristics of the Buddha. The serene and enormous face of the Buddha, with glass eyes that seem to follow observers, offers a serene presence that captivates visitors. Pilgrims and tourists come to appreciate not just the magnificence of the reclining Buddha, but also the serene and spiritual ambiance of the temple. Other smaller shrines and images of Buddhas can be found surrounding the main hall.
