Best Time to Visit Dawki Bridge

The ideal time to visit the Dawki Bridge in Dawki, Meghalaya, India is during the dry season, which typically extends from November to May. During these months, the weather is generally pleasant with less rainfall, making it perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the breathtaking views. Moreover, the water in the Umngot River, which the bridge spans over, is renowned for its crystal-clear visibility during the dry season. This period provides tourists with the opportunity to partake in boating activities, where boats appear to float on a transparent surface due to the river's clarity.

A highlight of this season is the "Boat Festival" held annually in March or April, attracting both locals and tourists to witness and participate in boat races and cultural events. However, it is important to note that the peak time for visitors is from December to January, when the weather is at its best for outdoor activities, though it can also be the most crowded. For those seeking a more tranquil experience, planning a visit in February or just before the onset of the monsoon around April to May would be advisable, to avoid the peak tourist season while still enjoying favorable conditions.
