Best Time to Visit Dawki Suspension Bridge

The Dawki Suspension Bridge is a spectacular sight located in Dawki, a town in Meghalaya, India, known for its pristine Umngot River and beautiful natural landscapes. To truly appreciate the beauty of the suspension bridge and its surroundings, the best time to visit is from November to May. During these months, the weather in Meghalaya is generally dry with minimal rainfall, offering clear skies and pleasant temperatures suitable for tourism. The river is calm, and the water is so transparent that boats seem to float in mid-air. It's also the perfect time for river activities such as boating and kayaking. Tourists can enjoy unobstructed views of the iconic bridge and the lush green hills that provide a stunning backdrop.

Particularly, the months of March and April highlight Dawki's beauty when the weather is most congenial. The temperate climate with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius (68 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit), makes it enjoyable for sightseeing and exploring the nearby attractions. However, it is important to note that this period, especially around the time of the Boat Racing competition held during the spring season, sees a peak in tourism. Therefore, travelers should plan ahead and book accommodations in advance to ensure a hassle-free visit to the Dawki Suspension Bridge.
