Doyang Hydro Project Tourism

The Doyang Hydro Project is positioned in the picturesque district of Wokha in Nagaland, India. It is constructed on the Doyang River, sometimes also referred to as Dzu or Dzulu. The project includes a substantial dam that harnesses the waters of the river, primarily for the purpose of hydroelectric power generation. This reservoir attracts migratory birds, most notably the Amur Falcons, turning the region into an eco-tourism hotspot, particularly during the falcon migration season. It is renowned for being the largest power-generating facility of its kind in the state with a capacity to generate approximately 75 megawatts of electricity. The project not only facilitates power generation but also contributes to irrigation and flood control.
