The Emirates Heritage Club runs the Emirates Heritage Village in Abu Dhabi, which offers a glimpse into the UAE's past. Traditional aspects of the desert way of life, including a campfire with coffee pots, a goats' hair tent, and a falaj irrigation system, are displayed in an open museum. Visitors to the village can look around an old-style mosque, which continues to be a place of worship, and watch craftsmen make pottery, blowing glass, and weaving fabric on a loom. It's an excellent location to discover the pre-oil past of the Emirates, which is often overshadowed by the country's state-of-the-art architecture. There are also shops selling herbs, as well as traditional Emirati food and souvenirs that make it a culturally rich experience. The Village's aim is to showcase the traditional lifestyle which has been historically prevalent in the desert region. With its reconstructed historical buildings, demonstrations of traditional skills, and frequently organized cultural festivals, the village is a cultural beacon for visitors wanting to understand the roots of Emirati life.
This place is a model of a traditional desert Bedouin village setup. It is an opportunity to learn a bit about the history, traditions & culture of the place. There many places to buy local souvenirs.
