Visit Fatucahi Waterfall, Suai, Timor-Leste

Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Fatucahi Waterfall in Suai, Timor-Leste is during the dry season, which typically spans from May through November. During these months, the rainfall is minimal, providing easier access to the waterfall as the paths leading to it are less slippery and much safer to navigate. Moreover, the dry season offers clear sunny days, which enhance the surrounding scenery and make for a pleasant experience while you soak in the breathtaking views. Meanwhile, May and November usually mark the transition between the wet and dry seasons, so visitors can experience the refreshing nature without the peak season crowds.

Visiting the waterfall in the wet season, December through April, can be challenging due to heavy rains that can cause flooding and make the paths muddy and difficult to trek. However, if you're an avid adventurer looking for a more vigorous experience and don't mind the heavier conditions, the wet season can provide a unique perspective as the water levels are higher and the waterfall is even more robust. Keep in mind that travel during this time should always consider the latest weather forecasts and local advice on accessibility to ensure a safe journey. For the optimal mix of good weather and full water flow, it is recommended to visit towards the end of the dry season, around September to early November.
