The Grand Serail is a historic building and the official headquarters of the Prime Minister of Lebanon. It is located in the Beirut Central District, also known as Centre Ville, which is the historical, geographical, and commercial heart of the city.

By Air

The primary point of entry by air is the Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY), Beirut's main airport. Upon arriving at the airport, you can choose from the following transport options:

  • Taxi: The most straightforward way to reach the Grand Serail is by taxi. Official airport taxis are available outside the terminal. The ride will take about 10–20 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • Rideshare: Apps like Uber or local services operate in Beirut, offering another convenient way to travel from the airport to the Grand Serail.

By Road

For those driving into Beirut:

  • From North Lebanon, take the coastal highway southbound directly into Beirut; follow signs to the city center or "Centre Ville."
  • From South Lebanon, head north along the coastal highway, and similarly, follow the direction towards Beirut's city center.
  • From the Bekaa Valley and Eastern Lebanon, use the Beirut-Damascus road and then navigate towards Beirut's central district.

Once in the Beirut Central District, there is signage directing you to the Grand Serail. Public parking spaces and garages are available nearby, as street parking may be limited.

By Bus

Lebanon's public transportation system comprises a network of buses. Buses to Beirut Central District can be found throughout the city:

  • Pick a bus route that heads towards the downtown area, as many pass through or terminate here.
  • Ask the bus driver or conductor to drop you off at a stop close to the Grand Serail.

On Foot

If you're staying in a hotel or accommodation near the Beirut Central District:

  • Walking may be the best way to explore the area and reach the Grand Serail, also allowing you to enjoy the architectural and cultural landmarks along the way.
