Hapoli is a quaint town in the Ziro Valley, situated in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Often referred to as 'Apatani Plateau', it is famous for its scenic beauty, characterized by lush paddy fields and surrounded by mountains that are covered with a blanket of vibrant green forests. The weather here remains pleasant throughout the year, with mild summers and cold winters. Hapoli is rich in cultural heritage and is inhabited predominantly by the Apatani tribe, known for their sustainable lifestyle and efficient agricultural practices like paddy-cum-fish cultivation, which is unique to this region. The town is an emerging center of the Apatani culture, providing insights into their traditions, festivals like Dree and Myoko, and the famous facial tattoos and nose plugs of Apatani women, although the latter is less commonly seen today. Hapoli acts as a base for tourists who come to explore the beauty of Ziro Valley, which is also a proposed UNESCO World Heritage Site.
