By Air:

The closest major airport to Heidelberg is Frankfurt International Airport (FRA). From there, you can:

  • Take a train: Board a train to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main station) from the Frankfurt Airport train station. This journey can take approximately 1 hour. From Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof, you can use public transport or a taxi to reach the university.
  • Rent a car or hire a taxi: A direct drive from Frankfurt Airport to Heidelberg University takes about an hour, depending on traffic conditions.
  • Airport shuttles: Some shuttle services operate directly to Heidelberg from the airport.

By Train:

The Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station serving the city. Upon arriving at the train station, you have the following options:
