Getting There

By Air

International visitors generally arrive by air via Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in the capital city of Dili. Airlines such as Airnorth, Sriwijaya Air, and Citilink operate flights to Dili.

Domestic Travel

From Dili, you can rent a car or take a bus to Lospalos. This journey takes approximately 8-10 hours depending on road conditions. It's advisable to plan for an overnight stay in Lospalos before continuing to Jaco Island.

By Road to Tutuala

From Lospalos, head towards the village of Tutuala. This can be a challenging drive, and a four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended.

By Sea to Jaco Island

Since Jaco Island is a sacred place with no permanent settlements, access is only possible by boat. From Tutuala, take a short trip to Valu Beach (locally known as Pantai Walu). Here, you can hire a local fisherman to take you to the island, weather permitting. It is important to negotiate the price and the pickup time beforehand.
