Best Time to Visit Jaflong Zero Point, Dawki, Meghalaya

The ideal time to visit Jaflong Zero Point in Dawki, Meghalaya, is during the post-monsoon months, from October to April. During this period, the weather is generally pleasant with minimal rainfall, making it perfect for sightseeing and enjoying outdoor activities like boating, camping, and trekking. Moreover, the famed crystal clear waters of the Umngot River are best observed when the monsoon-fed turbidity has settled. The visibility in the river during this phase is so high that boats appear to float in mid-air, an enchanting spectacle unique to Dawki. Moreover, temperatures during these months are comfortable, ranging from about 12°C to 25°C, providing a cool and enjoyable climate for visitors.

In contrast, the monsoon season, from May to September, is less optimal due to heavy rainfall, which may cause travel disruptions and affect the water clarity in the river. The increased water level due to the rain can sometimes restrict boating activities as well. Nevertheless, for those who relish lush green landscapes and don't mind the rain, this period also presents a mesmerizing view, as the surroundings turn vibrant and the river swells with the fresh influx of water. However, for the quintessential serene boat ride experience on the transparent river and uninterrupted exploration of the area, sticking to the recommended months will ensure a more fulfilling visit to Jaflong Zero Point.
