Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple, known locally as Johor Bahru Tua Pek Kong Temple, is a traditional Chinese temple situated in the heart of Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Established in the 19th century, it stands as one of the oldest structures in the city and serves as a symbol of unity among the five Chinese dialect groups: Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, and Hainanese who have lived harmoniously in the region. The temple is dedicated to six deities, revered by the respective Chinese communities. Featuring a vibrant red and gold color scheme, typical of Chinese architectural style, the temple showcases a rich array of traditional motifs, intricate carvings, and cultural artifacts. It has been well-preserved and continues to be an important site for religious worship and cultural festivals such as Chinese New Year and the annual Chingay Parade. Visitors to the temple can immerse themselves in its spiritual ambiance and experience the rich heritage and cultural diversity of the local Chinese community.
