Karaberd Fortress, also known as Kerberd or Karberd, is perched on a high rocky ridge overlooking the convergence of the Pambak and Vanadzor rivers near the city of Vanadzor, the capital of Lori Province, Armenia. This historic citadel is believed to date back to the 10th to 13th centuries and played a significant role during the medieval times when it was used for defense and surveillance. Although today Karaberd Fortress is mostly in ruins, visitors can still observe the remnants of its once formidable walls and structures.
