Karak Archaeological Museum is situated in the town of Karak, Jordan, within an old historic building that once functioned as a school during the Ottoman period. This museum showcases artifacts that chronologically span the history of the region from the prehistoric times to the Islamic era. The collections include a variety of items such as pottery, glass, flint and stone tools, metal artifacts, and coins, offering insights into the daily lives of the peoples who inhabited the area through different periods, including the Moabites, Nabateans, Romans, Byzantines, and Muslims. One of the most significant features of the museum is its location inside the Karak Castle, a crusader castle with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The castle itself is an impressive example of Crusader architecture with its towers, galleries, and ramparts, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. It has faced many sieges and reconstructions throughout its history, reflecting a rich tapestry of cultural influences.
